NCHS Celebrates 19th Annual Night at the Ballpark
LINCOLN, Neb. (August 3, 2023)- It was a beautiful night for a ballgame at Lincoln's Haymarket Park. 100 friends and supporters of NCHS filed into the stands to cheer on the Lincoln Saltdogs as they met the Chicago Dogs on Hawks Field.
Night at the Ballpark started in 2004 to raise awareness of NCHS services in the Lincoln-area. NCHS's Lincoln office opened in 1980 and was officially named the Joshua Collingsworth Center in 2009. Services offered by the Lincoln team include pregnancy and parenting support, adoption and post-adoption services, permanency services for youth in foster care and kinship support services.
The event raised nearly $6,000 to support children and families in Lincoln and across the state. "A Night at the Ballpark is a favorite summer tradition. Seeing families come out to enjoy each other's company and show their support for NCHS is truly special," said Leah Lindell, NCHS Development Events coordinator.
This year's sponsors included a mix of longtime supporters and new additions. "We are so grateful to our sponsors for showing their support and rallying their teams to join us in the stands," said Lindell. The State Troopers Association of Nebraska served as this year's presenting sponsor.
Beyond being a successful event for NCHS, the evening ended with a Lincoln Saltdogs victory, taking the series over the Chicago Dogs with a final score of 5 to 4.
NCHS would like to recognize the following sponsors:
