LINCOLN, Neb. (September 9, 2024) - After 15 years at the Valley Road location, NCHS is announcing the sale of that space and the acquisition of a new rental property in southwest Lincoln at 7130 S 29th Street, Suite A. The new office will retain its current name, the NCHS Joshua Collingsworth Center.
Program participants and the Lincoln community can expect services to continue without interruption during the office relocation, which is already underway. The new suite will continue to house staff for the Families Forever post-adoption program and the Pregnancy Services team. Other statewide programs will continue to be available to individuals residing in this service area.
"We put children and families first, even in these everyday business decisions," said Lana Temple-Plotz, NCHS Chief Executive Officer. "We were very intentional in seeking a new location to ensure accessibility to the community, ample shared space for classes and partner meetings and sufficient landing spots for our hybrid workforce."
The Lincoln office hosts regular Families Forever support groups and classes in addition to providing a place to connect with program participants and partnering agencies. The move from the old office is expected to be completed this week. Individuals planning to travel to the Lincoln office should look for additional communication regarding location of meetings and classes as needed in the coming days.
Donors and funders can be confident that their generous contributions will continue to deliver the same high level of service to the Lincoln community.
"The realities of hybrid working have led us to reevaluate our use of space," said Carly Wegner, NCHS Chief Philanthropy Officer. "Stewardship of donor funds is always top of mind. Those dollars have a greater impact on those we serve when we can lower our overhead in a thoughtful way."
To celebrate the move and introduce partners and supporters to the new location, NCHS will host an Open House on Thursday, October 24th, from 5:00–7:00 PM, following the Families Forever Full Circle Conference. Guests can enjoy seasonal treats while connecting with NCHS staff and learning more about efforts to serve Lincoln-area families.
