OMAHA, Neb. (May 3, 2018) – Nebraska Children’s Home Society marks its 125th anniversary with a brand refresh.

“In the year leading up to our anniversary, we realized the need for a Nebraska Children’s Home Society brand that better reflects who we are, whom we serve, and what we hope to accomplish in the years ahead,” said Lana Temple-Plotz, CEO of Nebraska Children’s Home Society. “What followed was a months-long process focused on interviewing our leadership team, staff members, board members and those we serve in order to ensure that the updated Nebraska Children’s Home Society brand represents our mission, vision and values.”

The result of those efforts features a new logo, tagline, vision and values statements, brand colors and core messaging look that will set the stage for all of the organization’s communications going forward.

“The previous Nebraska Children’s Home Society logo has been an integral part of the organization’s brand for 20 years,” Temple-Plotz said. “As our services have evolved to support children of all ages, as well as the people around them, we sought a logo that more accurately represents our mission and those it serves.”

The Logo

The new logo is centered on a child, who is connected to and supported by a variety of family members, caregivers and providers. They are collectively surrounded by a figurative home, which embodies our vision of “a safe and loving family for every child.” All parts of the logo’s icon are connected through a continuous line, showing that children thrive when they have a collaborative network of support. The range of vivid colors speaks to the diversity in the communities the organization serves, as well as its inclusiveness.

The Tagline

The new Nebraska Children’s Home Society tagline, “Children First” means focusing on the child, making their needs a priority, and caring for them by supporting the people around them, from parents, grandparents and siblings to caregivers and teachers.

By June 2018, the new signage will be installed at the organization’s nine office locations throughout the state by the end of May 2018.

“The most important part of our brand is our supporters and the people we serve,” Temple-Plotz said. “It is the generosity of generations of people that have made Nebraska Children’s Home Society strong and prepared to put children first in all that we do.”

Nebraska Children’s Home Society will celebrate its 125th anniversary on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in La Vista, Nebraska and on Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Kearney, Nebraska. For more details about these events, visit www.nchs.org.
