NCHS to host 9th annual neighborhood celebration
OMAHA, Neb. (July 31, 2019) – Nebraska Children’s Home Society will host its 9th Annual Neighborhood Celebration at its Children & Family Center located at 3549 Fontenelle Blvd on Friday, August 9 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The public is invited to this FREE community event which includes face painting, a dunk tank, a live DJ, carnival games, raffles, free backpacks stuffed with back-to-school supplies, and free food!
“We’ve been serving the state of Nebraska from this location since 1924,” Children and Family Center Program Director Maria Nielsen said. “Our Annual Neighborhood Celebration serves two purposes: It’s a way for us to distribute much-needed school supplies to children and families, so they start the school year ready to learn and it brings together our community partners, neighbors and friends in an afternoon of fun.”
This event is made possible through generous financial support from Physicians Mutual Insurance Company Foundation and Suburban Rotary of Omaha.
The NCHS Children and Families Center is located in the first permanent building of NCHS, which opened in 1924. Services at the Center include individualized support, parent support groups, pregnancy counseling, parent education, an early childhood center, and youth education.
