OMAHA, Neb. (December 6, 2013) Aaron and Kerri Bly of Kennesaw will be recognized as Volunteers of the Year by Nebraska Children’s Home Society (NCHS) at its 120th anniversary and awards banquet on December 14, 2013.

“Often in development, when requesting support we ask people to give of their time, talents and treasures, “said Brian Osborne NCHS Chief Development Officer. “All three aspects are important, so the volunteer of the year award was created to honor those who go above and beyond the call of duty in giving of their time and talents.”

Aaron and Kerri Bly make their home in rural Kenesaw. Their home was formerly a country school, and appropriately it is now a place of continuous learning for them and their five children, Gabby, Christian, Trae, Seth and EJ.

The couple  has been volunteering for NCHS about nine years, being vocal advocates of adoption, and causes that support children. They have recruited sponsors, businesses, and sports celebrities to support NCHS.

Aaron has utilized his skills of organization and persuasion to assemble an active and committed group of volunteers in Kearney and the tri-cities area. This past July the group hosted the 5th Annual Fairways and Greens for Kids and Dreams charity golf tournament in Kearney, with over $50,000 in proceeds benefiting the Children’s Home.

For their  commitment to volunteerism and the NCHS mission of providing safe and loving care for children of all ages, the Nebraska Children’s Home Society is presenting Aaron and Kerri Bly with the Volunteers of the Year Award.
