2016 NEBRASKA CHILDREN’S HOME SOCIETY’S SAND IN THE CITY® SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

OMAHA, Neb. (April 2016) We are moving to Baxter Arena this year!!!

Sand 101 Thursday, April 21 & Friday April 22, 2:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.  Nebraska Children’s Home Society, 4939 S. 118th Street, Omaha, NE 68137 *Teams learn sand sculpting basics and have hands-on practice with sand coach.

Sand Practice Wednesday, May 18 – Friday, May 20, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 8 am-4 pm Nebraska Children’s Home Society, 4939 S. 118th Street, Omaha, NE 68137 *Teams & designers work together to make their blueprints come to life in the sand.

Pound Up Thursday, June 9, 9:30 a.m. BAXTER ARENA, 2425 S. 67th St, Omaha, NE 68106 *Volunteers pound up 400 tons of sand which will be used for the main display.  

Sand Sculpting Competition Day Friday, June 10, 2016, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  BAXTER ARENA, 2425 S. 67th St, Omaha, NE 68106 *Teams pound, form and carve 15 tons of sand into sculptures.  Winners announced on Friday June 10 at 4:30 pm.

Family Fun Days Saturday,  June 11, 2016 10 a.m. – 8  p.m.  Sunday,  June 12, 2016 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. *Family Fun Days-No admission charged, suggested $5 donation per family to benefit NCHS’s mission-safe and loving care to children of all ages.
